Well, excitement is easily found in my household because I am now packed and ready to go to Costa Rica. I came home from school a day early so I could shop around for the things I needed. I ended up picking up a compact flash card reader for my laptop (so I can get photos off of my camera easily) and a cheap tripod for long exposures, night shots, and group shots (because I am sure I will have to take some). I had a little trouble getting everything to fit right in my suitcase but I got it all worked out. The gift for my host-family is really what screwed me up since I forgot to pack it the first time. I really do like my new luggage set, this is the first time I have used a piece of it and it is really slick stuff. Samsonite really knows what they are doing. I am really excited about the prospects of taking pictures while on the trip and I hope I don't take too many tomorrow of the flight and the trip (van) to the eco-lodge from the airport in Costa Rica. I guess the thing I am most worried about is how I am going to post while I am at the eco-lodge. They are supposed to have wireless, so I hope that it is reliable or else this will be a real pain in the butt to keep up and I will have to do everything in word and post it when I get home. That would be so annoying, you have no idea.
I downloaded a trial of Aperture 2.0 to process my pictures while I am in CR (I am going to start using this instead of Costa Rica) and spent some time getting to know the program today. I was apprehensive at first but I am really starting to like it. I am not sure if I like it better than light room yet but I will figure that out eventually. Hell, I might even buy it when my trial ends, who knows. Just know I was wondering what my word per minute rate is while I am typing these things because I really am just cruising along. It would be interesting to see. I hope I don't have too much trouble getting through security tomorrow with my laptop, iPod and some other extraneous stuff that I have in my backpack and camera bag. Knowing how things are I will probably have to take everything out and let them check it, but it won't be too terrible since I definitely can't check my laptop and camera. I am regretting that I don't have the 1.4 or 2x extender for my camera lenses, but I think it will be fine, I will just have to try extra hard to have sharp, in focus images. I really hope that I don't have to take the speck case off of my laptop at the airport, that would be a real pain. Well, I guess I'll see when the time comes so there is no use worrying about it. I guess this is enough for now, lets see if I have any trouble sleeping tonight. I think I'll put money on me having trouble.
