Tokyo: Day 11

Today Erin and I decided to go to Roppongi with intentions of going to Tokyo tower. We took the trains to get there as usual. The only problem with the day is that it was a little rainy. We walked around for a bit, just wandering and then we stumbled upon Tokyo Midtown. It is kind of hard to describe, but basically it is a mall, the ritz-carolton (sp), an art museum, a couple of other museums and the Konami building. Oh, it also had the Fuji film building with the Fuji film camera museum. The complex was really fancy and modern looking. The architecture was also very cool. One cool thing about the building the Ritz was in was that it was the tallest building in Tokyo. The only problem for us was that to go to the top you had to be either staying in the Ritz or eat in one of the super expensive restaurants at the Ritz.

We went inside the mall to explore and found out that, like outside, the inside of these buildings was also very fancy. They even had fancy escalators.


There was also a very cool, very pretty fountain. The water came down from the roof.



We found the art museum in that building and went in. They didn’t allow pictures so I didn’t get to take any. After we came out we went to try Mos Burger for the first time.
They had their own ketchup.

The burger was simply amazing. I don't think it was better than Japanese Wendy’s, but it was close.




After Mos Burger Erin noticed that there was a Golden Spoon down the street from Mos Burger. She said that it was the best soft serve ever and that I had to try it. Of course I tried it and boy was it good. The soft serve was incomparable to anything I have ever had before. I chose chocolate peanut butter flavor.


At about this time Yasu called us so we went back to Tokyo Midtown to meet him at the station. I snapped this photo outside.

After we met Yasu we ventured over to Roppongi Hills, which is a nice shopping complex with a big mall and a place for outdoor events and stuff of that sort. They al had this giant spider thing outside but I don't like how my pictures of that turned out. This building was almost as tall as the Ritz building but still cost money to go up, so we didn’t because we deemed it was not worth it. The weather was bad so we wouldn’t be able to see far.

They also had these outdoor fountain things that I liked. I took this shot with a low shutter speed so the water would blur and look glassy.

After we left Roppongi Hills we went looking for dinner. We eventually settled on a Chinese restaurant which ended up being wonderful. Yasu said that my Japanese was better than the Chinese people. I still don’t believe him. We headed back to the hostel after dinner.
